Looking for a PG in Nerul? Nerul is one of the best-connected nodes in Navi Mumbai, with Harbour, Trans-Harbour and Port line trains at one station and colleges on both sides of the tracks. On 4 November 2026, BedR had 26 PG listings labelled Nerul, all with map pins within 1.9 km of Nerul railway station. Their advertised starting prices ran from ₹6,000 to ₹14,000 a month, with a median of ₹8,000. Most pins were in Nerul East, between the station and the SIES and DY Patil side. Counting the Seawoods and CBD Belapur listings inside the same 3 km circle, there were 32 PGs, also with a median of ₹8,000.

This guide covers where the Nerul listings are, how prices differ between Nerul East and Nerul West, what boys and girls PGs advertise, how far the colleges and Seawoods are from the station, how Nerul connects by train, what to know about Navi Mumbai Police tenant information and agreements, and a checklist for viewings. It focuses on Nerul and the Seawoods side next to it. For an overview of all Navi Mumbai nodes, see our PG in Navi Mumbai guide.

Prices are the lowest advertised monthly starting price on each BedR listing page on 4 November 2026. These are advertised listings identified through BedR's sitemap, not confirmed availability, and the figures are not bed-level rents because the listing data does not state the sharing type. Medians are medians of the lowest advertised price per property, not rents actually paid, single-room rents or citywide market rents.

1. Where Nerul is and who looks for a PG here

Nerul in Navi Mumbai

Nerul is a node in the middle of Navi Mumbai, between Juinagar and Sanpada to the north and Seawoods and CBD Belapur to the south. Nerul railway station is the centre of most PG searches here. The railway line splits the node into two sides that people call Nerul West and Nerul East, and listing names use both. By road, the node is reached by Palm Beach Road and the Sion–Panvel Highway.

For a PG search, the useful split is simple. Nerul West has the sectors close to the station and the Palm Beach Road side. Nerul East has the sectors between the station and the college and stadium area, including the SIES College and the DY Patil Stadium, which is in the DY Patil Sports Academy in Nerul. Seawoods, one station south, has its own station and the Seawoods Grand Central mall next to it.

Who searches for a PG in Nerul

Google's suggested searches for "pg in nerul" on 4 November 2026 included "for female", "for male", "for girls" and "for boys", "east" and "west", "with food", "under 5000", "near DY Patil", "near Nerul station", "single room near Nerul station", "sector 20" and "sector 21", "near SIES Nerul" and "hostel in Nerul". That points to two main groups: students at the colleges in Nerul and nearby nodes, and working people who want a station with direct trains towards Mumbai, Thane and Panvel.

How far key places are from Nerul station

Place (OpenStreetMap point)	Straight-line distance from Nerul station	Why it matters for a PG search
Balaji Temple, Nerul West	0.4 km	Landmark on the West side near the station
Terna Engineering College (bus stop point)	0.4 km	College close to the station on the West side
SIES College, Nerul East	1.2 km	College area on the East side
DY Patil Sports Stadium, Nerul East	1.3 km	Stadium and DY Patil campus area
Seawoods–Darave station	1.3 km	Next station south
Seawoods Grand Central	1.4 km	Mall next to Seawoods station
Juinagar station	2.5 km	Next Harbour line station north
CBD Belapur station	2.7 km	Belapur node; Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 starts in CBD Belapur
Bharati Vidyapeeth, Belapur	2.7 km	College campus towards Belapur
Vashi station	3.8 km	Larger hub to the north
Navi Mumbai International Airport	6.5 km	Airport at Ulwe, south-east of Nerul

Distances are straight-line from OpenStreetMap points checked on 4 November 2026 (the airport uses the coordinates on its Wikipedia page). Road distances are longer, and travel time depends heavily on traffic. A large campus can have several gates, so measure to the gate you will use.

2. PG in Nerul: advertised prices on BedR (4 November 2026)

In an analysis of 744 Mumbai-region PG listing pages identified through BedR's sitemap on 4 November 2026, we found 32 usable advertised starting rents for PGs within 3 km of Nerul station; the median was ₹8,000 per month. Of these, 26 were labelled Nerul, also with a median of ₹8,000. These figures describe advertised listings, not confirmed bed availability.

Prices by area label

Area (listing label)	PG listings	PG starting prices (₹/month)	Median
Nerul (general label)	17	6,000–12,500	8,000
Nerul East labels (including "Nerul E" and "Sector 21 Nerul East")	8	7,000–10,000	Too few for a median
Nerul West label	1	14,000	Too few for a median
All Nerul-labelled	26	6,000–14,000	8,000
Seawoods	3	6,000; 8,000; 18,000	Too few for a median
CBD Belapur label	2	6,500; 10,000	Too few for a median
Navi Mumbai label	1	9,000	Too few for a median
All within 3 km	32	6,000–18,000	8,000

Prices are the lowest advertised monthly starting price on each BedR listing page on 4 November 2026. These are advertised listings identified through BedR's sitemap, not confirmed availability. We give a median only where a group has at least ten listings. Medians are of the lowest advertised price per property, not rents actually paid, single-room rents or citywide market rents.

The Nerul listings were bunched on price: half of them started between ₹7,500 and ₹9,250. Labels need care. The one listing labelled Nerul West had its map pin on the East side of the station, and the two CBD Belapur listings inside the circle had pins within about 1.3 km of CBD Belapur station. Check the map pin and the sector number, not only the area name.

Nerul East or Nerul West?

Side of the station (by map pin)	Nerul-labelled PGs	Starting prices (₹/month)	Median
East of the station	19	6,000–14,000	8,000
West of the station	7	6,000; 7,500; 7,500; 7,500; 8,000; 8,500; 12,500	Too few for a median
All Nerul-labelled	26	6,000–14,000	8,000

Side is estimated from each map pin's position east or west of the Nerul station point, so a pin very close to the tracks may be on either side in practice. Prices are the lowest advertised monthly starting price on each BedR listing page on 4 November 2026, not confirmed availability. Medians are of the lowest advertised price per property, not rents actually paid.

Nerul East had nearly three times as many listings as Nerul West in BedR's data, which matters more than price: the two sides started at similar levels. If you study in the SIES or DY Patil area, East is where most of the choice was. If you want to be close to the station on the West side, there were fewer listings to compare, so start looking early.

Prices by distance from the station

Distance of the map pin from Nerul station	PG listings (all labels)	Starting prices (₹/month)	Of which Nerul-labelled
Up to 0.5 km	5	7,500; 7,500; 8,000; 8,000; 14,000	5
0.5–1 km	14	Median 8,250	13
1–2 km	8	6,000–10,000	8
2–3 km	5	6,000; 6,500; 8,000; 10,000; 18,000	0
All within 3 km	32	Median 8,000	26

Prices are the lowest advertised monthly starting price on each BedR listing page on 4 November 2026. These are advertised listings identified through BedR's sitemap, not confirmed availability. Medians are given only where a group has at least ten listings, and are of the lowest advertised price per property, not rents actually paid.

Distance from the station made little difference to the starting price. Most listings were 0.5 to 1 km away, which in Nerul is usually a short walk or auto ride. All 2–3 km listings were on the Seawoods and Belapur side.

Prices by who the PG is for

Label on the listing	All 32 PGs within 3 km	Median	Nerul-labelled only (26)
Boys	20	8,000	17 listings, 6,000–10,000 (median 8,000)
Girls	10	9,500	8 listings, 8,000–14,000 (too few for a median)
Boys and girls	2	Too few for a median	1 listing, 7,500

Girls PGs started higher than boys PGs in this sample. The eight Nerul-labelled girls PGs started at ₹8,000, ₹8,000, ₹8,500, ₹10,000, ₹10,000, ₹12,000, ₹12,500 and ₹14,000. The two other girls PGs inside the circle, a Navi Mumbai-labelled listing in Nerul East and a CBD Belapur-labelled listing near Belapur station, started at ₹9,000 and ₹6,500. There was also a girls' hostel in Nerul (see below). Only two listings within 3 km were mixed boys-and-girls PGs; in a mixed PG, ask how floors, rooms and washrooms are split and what the entry rules are.

How the starting prices are spread

Advertised starting price (₹/month)	All PG listings within 3 km	Nerul-labelled
Below 7,000	5	3
7,000–7,999	6	6
8,000–9,999	13	11
10,000–14,999	7	6
15,000 and above	1	0

Prices are the lowest advertised monthly starting price on each BedR listing page on 4 November 2026. These are advertised listings identified through BedR's sitemap, not confirmed availability.

No PG within 3 km started below ₹6,000, although "pg in nerul under 5000" is a common search. The lowest starting price, ₹6,000, appeared on three Nerul-labelled boys PGs and one mixed PG in Seawoods. Anything advertised well below that is likely to be a bed in a large shared room, so ask exactly what the price covers.

What the numbers do and do not tell you

Each figure is the "from" price for a property. Twenty of the 26 Nerul pages also showed a price range, and most upper ends were ₹10,000 to ₹14,000, with a few higher (up to ₹25,000 on one girls PG). The higher figures are probably for single or less-shared rooms, so treat about ₹8,000 as a typical Nerul starting point, not the rent for the room you will get. If you need a single room near Nerul station, ask for that price directly. Deposits were not stated in the listing data, so we cannot give a typical figure.

Hostels within 3 km (counted separately)

Hostel listing	Distance from Nerul station	Advertised price (₹/month)	Note
Girls' hostel, Nerul East	0.4 km	From 6,000	Close to the station
Boys and girls hostel, Seawoods	2.7 km	40,000–42,500	Far above every PG in this area; ask what the price covers

Hostel listings are shown separately and are not counted in the PG figures above. Prices are as advertised on BedR listing pages on 4 November 2026, not confirmed availability.

Facilities shown on the listings

Facility tag on the listing	Nerul-labelled (26)	All 32 PG listings
Wi-Fi	21	24
Wardrobe	21	24
Geyser	21	24
In-house kitchen	21	23
Study table	15	17
Air conditioning	8	10
CCTV	4	7
Two-wheeler parking	4	7
Security guard	2	4
Power backup	2	4
Lift	2	3

Facility counts are tags shown on BedR listing pages on 4 November 2026. A tag is the operator's description, not an inspection.

None of the listings tagged meals, although "pg in nerul with food" is a common search. The closest tag was "in-house kitchen", which may mean a kitchen you can use rather than food provided. If you want a PG with food, ask how many meals a day are included and whether the price changes without them. Few Nerul listings tagged CCTV or a security guard, so if those matter to you, ask and check on your visit.

3. Colleges, Seawoods and getting around

PGs near SIES, DY Patil and Terna

Many people search for a PG near a specific college. In BedR's data, these were the Nerul-labelled PGs within a straight-line radius of each OpenStreetMap point:

Place	Within 1 km	Within 1.5 km	Within 2 km
Terna Engineering College (bus stop point, West)	15	22	23
SIES College (East)	9	15	22
DY Patil Sports Stadium (East)	8	15	22
Seawoods–Darave station	8	15	22

Counts are of the 26 Nerul-labelled PG listings on BedR on 4 November 2026, by straight-line distance from one OpenStreetMap point per place. These are advertised listings, not confirmed availability.

We could not find a single OpenStreetMap point for the DY Patil university campus, so we used the stadium point. If you study at DY Patil, measure from the gate of your own building. Terna sits close to the station, so a PG near the station on either side works for it. SIES and the DY Patil area are in Nerul East, about 1.2 to 1.3 km from the station in a straight line, and the East-side listings were closest to them.

Trains from Nerul

Nerul station (station code NEU) is on three lines of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, run by Central Railway:

Line	Where it goes from Nerul	Source checked 4 Nov 2026
Harbour line	North through Juinagar and Vashi towards Mumbai CSMT; south through Seawoods and CBD Belapur towards Panvel	Nerul railway station
Trans-Harbour line	Towards Thane; Nerul is a terminus for some Thane services	Trans-Harbour line
Port line	South through Seawoods–Darave towards Kharkopar and Uran	Port line

Rail information is taken from the linked sources checked on 4 November 2026. Check the latest timetable and official announcements before you base a move on a train line.

The station has six platforms. The Port line started daily services on 12 November 2018 and was extended to Uran in January 2024, according to the linked page. If you work in south or central Mumbai, the Harbour line runs directly from Nerul, but try the full trip at peak time before you pay a token. For Thane and the offices along Thane–Belapur Road, the Trans-Harbour line also runs from Nerul.

Seawoods next door

Seawoods–Darave–Karave station is the next station south of Nerul and is also on the Harbour, Trans-Harbour and Port lines. In BedR's data, 8 of the 26 Nerul-labelled PGs had pins within 1 km of Seawoods station, so the southern part of Nerul East works for both stations. The three listings labelled Seawoods were about 2.2 to 2.4 km from Nerul station.

Metro and airport

The Navi Mumbai Metro began operating on 17 November 2023. Its operational Line 1 runs from CBD Belapur to Pendhar, so it does not have a station in Nerul. Navi Mumbai International Airport at Ulwe started commercial operations on 25 December 2025 and is about 6.5 km from Nerul station in a straight line. If you will work at the airport, time the actual road route at your shift hours rather than relying on the straight-line figure.

Where to look first

If you work or study in…	Areas to look at first	What to check on your visit
SIES College or the DY Patil area	Nerul East, between the station and the college side	Walking route to your gate, and the route after dark
Terna Engineering College	Nerul near the station, West or East	Crossing the tracks if your PG is on the other side
South or central Mumbai	Nerul near the station	Harbour line peak-hour crowding and journey time
Thane or Thane–Belapur Road offices	Nerul near the station	Trans-Harbour train times and your onward route
Seawoods or CBD Belapur	Southern Nerul East or Seawoods	Which station is closer to your PG in practice
The airport at Ulwe	Nerul or Seawoods, compared with nodes nearer Ulwe	Road time at your shift hours

4. Nearby options if Nerul's own listings do not fit

Choose Nerul East if…

You study near SIES or DY Patil and want the most choice. Nineteen of the 26 Nerul listings had pins on the East side, with a median starting price of ₹8,000. You can browse PG listings in Nerul East on BedR.

Choose Seawoods if…

You want Seawoods station or the mall area and do not mind fewer listings to compare. There were only three Seawoods-labelled PGs within 3 km of Nerul station, so also look at southern Nerul East, which is close to Seawoods station. You can browse PG listings in Seawoods on BedR.

Choose Kharghar if…

You study or work further south-east and want a larger node with more listings. Our PG in Kharghar guide covers that area.

Look a little further out

Another 6 BedR PG listings were 3–5 km from Nerul station. They are not counted in the figures above, but they show what is just outside the circle:

Area (listing label)	Listings 3–5 km from Nerul station	Starting prices (₹/month)
Vashi	3	7,000; 10,000; 12,000
Turbhe	2	7,500; 12,500
CBD Belapur	1	7,000

5. Agreement, police tenant information and deposit

The agreement

Under section 55 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, a leave and licence or rental agreement for premises in Maharashtra must be in writing and registered, and the landlord is responsible for registration. The Department of Registration and Stamps runs an e-registration service for leave and licence agreements, which lets the parties prepare, sign and register an agreement online. PG arrangements vary: some operators sign a leave and licence agreement with each resident, while others use their own house rules and receipts. Ask the operator what you will sign, who pays any charges and how the paperwork will be registered.

Navi Mumbai Police tenant information

Nerul is in Navi Mumbai, and the Navi Mumbai Police website lists Nerul and NRI Sagari among its police stations. Its Tenant Information page describes a tenant verification submission form that starts with the property owner's details. In August 2023, Loksatta reported that a police no-objection certificate is no longer needed to rent out a home in Navi Mumbai, but that owners must give the police station the tenant's ID, PAN card and photograph. The owner or operator usually submits this, so ask them to confirm it has been done for your PG and which police station covers the address, and keep copies of your ID and agreement.

Deposit

The BedR listing data for Nerul did not state deposits, and we did not find a fixed statewide deposit amount for PGs in Maharashtra in the sources we checked. The deposit, notice period, lock-in and refund timeline are set by the operator, so get all four in writing before you pay anything.

This section is general information based on the sources linked above, checked on 4 November 2026. It is not legal advice. Rules and procedures can change, so confirm the current position with the official portals, the operator or a lawyer.

6. PG, hostel or shared flat in Nerul?

A PG is priced per bed or room and often includes services such as housekeeping or a kitchen. A hostel may have more residents and fixed rules or timings, so ask before you book. A shared flat means splitting a whole-flat rent, plus deposit, society maintenance and utilities, with your flatmates. This guide did not analyse flat rents, so do not compare the PG prices above with flat rents directly.

Point	PG	Shared flat
What you pay	A monthly price per bed or room, set by the operator	Your share of the flat rent, plus utilities and maintenance
Deposit	Set by the operator; not stated in the BedR Nerul listings	Usually set by the owner for the whole flat; split between flatmates
Paperwork	Operator's agreement or house rules; ask how it will be registered	Leave and licence agreement registered under section 55
Flexibility	Often easier to move in and out	Changing flatmates or leaving early can be harder
Best for	Students and new joiners who want a simple start	Groups of friends or colleagues staying a year or more

7. Before you pay a token: viewing checklist

Step	What to check
Map pin	Check the pin and the sector number, not just "Nerul", "Nerul West" or "CBD Belapur" in the listing name.
Side of the tracks	If your college or office is on the other side, walk the crossing route once at peak time.
Commute	Make the trip to your college gate or office once at peak time, by the route you will actually use.
Sharing type	Ask which sharing type the advertised price is for, and the price for the room you will actually get.
Money in writing	Get rent, deposit, notice period, lock-in and the refund timeline in writing.
What is included	Ask about meals (how many a day), Wi-Fi, electricity, AC charges, laundry and housekeeping.
Safety	Ask about CCTV, a guard or warden, entry timings and guest rules, and check them on the visit.
Night visit	Visit after dark once, especially on the walk from the station.
Police information	Confirm the operator's identity and the exact address, and ask how they will give your details to the Navi Mumbai Police.
Move-in day	Photograph the room, furniture and meter, and pay through traceable methods such as UPI or bank transfer, keeping receipts.

Methodology note

BedR listing figures come from BedR's sitemap snapshot of 4 November 2026. We fetched all 744 Mumbai-region PG and hostel listing pages between 14:53 and 14:58 IST. All returned HTTP 200, and 742 had structured data with a price and a map pin. From each page we read the lowest advertised monthly starting price, the map pin, the "who it is for" label, the PG or hostel label and the facility tags. The Nerul sample is the 32 PG listings whose pins were within 3 km straight-line of the OpenStreetMap point for Nerul railway station; two hostels in the same circle are shown separately. All 26 Nerul-labelled PG listings were inside that circle, and no listing was excluded for an unusual price or a duplicate page. Another 6 PG listings 3–5 km away are recorded in our evidence file for context but not counted, and listings labelled Kharghar are left to our Kharghar guide. Medians are given only where a group has at least ten listings. The data does not state sharing type, so figures are per-property starting prices, not bed or room rents. Flat listings were not included. East and West are estimated from each pin's position relative to the station point. Search-volume data from Semrush could not be pulled for this article, so no search-volume figures are given. Related searches come from Google autocomplete on 4 November 2026. Google Search Console is not connected, so no Search Console data was used. External facts are linked to dated sources; check the latest position before relying on them.

Frequently asked questions

What is the rent for a PG in Nerul?

On 4 November 2026, the 26 BedR PG listings labelled Nerul had advertised starting prices of ₹6,000 to ₹14,000 a month, with a median of ₹8,000. Including the Seawoods and Belapur-labelled listings within 3 km of Nerul station, the median for 32 PGs was also ₹8,000. These are "from" prices per property, so ask which sharing type they cover.

Is Nerul East or Nerul West better for a PG?

In BedR's data, 19 of the 26 Nerul listings had pins on the East side and 7 on the West side, and starting prices were similar on both. Nerul East had more choice and is closer to SIES College and the DY Patil area. Terna Engineering College is close to the station, so both sides can work for it.

Can I find a PG in Nerul under ₹5,000?

Not among the PG listings in BedR's data on 4 November 2026. The lowest starting price within 3 km of Nerul station was ₹6,000, and 9 of the 26 Nerul listings started below ₹8,000. A girls' hostel near the station also started at ₹6,000. Low starting prices are usually for shared rooms.

Is there a girls PG in Nerul?

Yes. Eight girls-only PG listings were labelled Nerul, starting at ₹8,000 to ₹14,000. Two more girls PGs within 3 km of the station started at ₹9,000 and ₹6,500, and a girls' hostel about 0.4 km from the station started at ₹6,000. Girls PGs started higher than boys PGs in this sample.

Which PGs are close to DY Patil and SIES in Nerul?

In BedR's data, 8 Nerul listings had pins within 1 km of the DY Patil Sports Stadium point and 9 within 1 km of SIES College, with 22 within 2 km of each. Both are in Nerul East, so East-side PGs are the ones to compare first. Measure from your own campus gate.

Do PGs in Nerul include food?

The BedR listings we checked did not tag meals. Twenty-one Nerul listings tagged an in-house kitchen, which may mean a kitchen residents can use rather than meals provided. Ask each operator how many meals a day are included and how that changes the rent.

Is police verification needed for a PG in Nerul?

According to an August 2023 Loksatta report, a police NOC is not needed to rent out a home in Navi Mumbai, but owners must give the police station the tenant's ID, PAN and photograph. The Navi Mumbai Police website has a tenant information form for this. The owner or operator usually submits it, so ask them to confirm.
