Looking for a PG in Kharghar? Decide first whether you need to be near Kharghar railway station, the central sectors around Utsav Chowk and Central Park, or a college such as NIFT or NMIMS. On 27 October 2026, the 14 BedR PG listings labelled Kharghar had advertised starting prices of ₹6,000 to ₹35,000 a month, with a median of ₹11,000. Three Kharghar hostel listings started higher, at ₹25,000 to ₹32,500. Nine of the 17 PG and hostel listings were for girls.

Kharghar is a planned node in Navi Mumbai, developed by CIDCO, between CBD Belapur and Taloja. It has a railway station on the Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines, several stops on Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1, and large campuses. That mix brings students, hospital staff and working professionals looking for a bed or a room rather than a whole flat. This guide uses BedR's own listing data to show where Kharghar's PGs are and what they advertise. It also covers the trains and metro, the paperwork owners in Navi Mumbai are asked to complete, and a checklist for your visit. For the city-wide picture across Vashi, Nerul, Airoli and other nodes, read our PG in Navi Mumbai guide. This guide goes deeper into Kharghar only.

Prices are the lowest advertised monthly starting price on each BedR PG or hostel listing page on 27 October 2026. The pages do not say which sharing type (single, double or triple) that price is for, so treat each figure as "from" pricing for that property, not as a bed or room rent. They are not confirmed rents and do not show whether a bed is free. PG and hostel prices are shown separately. Distances are straight-line from each listing's map pin, not road distances. Medians are shown only where a group has at least ten listings.

1. Where Kharghar is and who looks for a PG here

Kharghar in Navi Mumbai

Kharghar sits on the Harbour line between CBD Belapur and Mansarovar. Most of the node lies north-east of the station, along the roads that lead to Central Park, the golf course and the Kharghar hills. Taloja lies further north-east, and Kamothe and Khandeshwar lie to the east across the highway. In this guide we measure every listing from two OpenStreetMap points: Kharghar railway station (19.0267, 73.0590) and Central Park (19.0581, 73.0678).

Campuses that bring people to Kharghar

Institution	Address on its official website	Why it matters for a PG search
NIFT Mumbai	Plot 15, Sector 4, Kharghar	Fashion and design students, many from outside Maharashtra
NMIMS Navi Mumbai	Plot 2, Pethapada, Sector 33, Kharghar, near Pethpada Metro Station	On the north-east side, close to a metro stop
ACTREC (Tata Memorial Centre)	Plot 1 and 2, Sector 22, Kharghar	Cancer treatment and research centre; staff, trainees and patients' families need longer stays

Addresses as shown on each institution's website, checked on 27 October 2026.

Google's autocomplete suggestions on 27 October 2026 also showed searches for PGs near NIFT, NMIMS, ACTREC, CDAC and the railway station, and for specific sectors such as 4, 7, 10, 12, 20 and 35. If you know your campus or office, start your search from it, not from "Kharghar" as a whole.

2. PG in Kharghar: advertised prices on BedR (27 October 2026)

We read 738 Mumbai-region PG and hostel listing pages identified through BedR's sitemap on 27 October 2026. Seventeen were labelled Kharghar: 14 PGs and 3 hostels. All 17 pages were usable, and none was excluded. The 14 PG listings had a median advertised starting price of ₹11,000 a month and a range of ₹6,000 to ₹35,000. The three hostel listings started at ₹25,000, ₹29,166 and ₹32,500. This reflects BedR's advertised listing data on one day, not confirmed bed availability or the whole Kharghar market.

Lowest advertised monthly starting price per property on BedR, 27 October 2026. Not a bed or room rent, and not confirmed availability. Hostel prices are kept separate from PG prices.

Most of the supply is in the central belt, where OpenStreetMap places the pins around Kharghar Village, Raintree Marg and the roads near Utsav Chowk. The three north-east listings, all labelled Kharghar, have pins that OpenStreetMap places in the Owe Village area towards Taloja. They were also the three most expensive listings. If a listing in that area fits your budget, check the exact address and how you will reach the station or a metro stop.

Prices by who the PG is for

Label on the listing	PG listings	PG starting prices (₹/month)	Hostel listings (starting price)
Girls	8	6,000; 8,500; 8,500; 10,000; 13,000; 13,000; 15,000; 16,000	1 (₹29,166)
Boys	1	12,000	1 (₹25,000)
Boys and girls	5	7,000; 9,000; 9,000; 12,000; 35,000	1 (₹32,500)

Each figure is one property's lowest advertised monthly starting price on BedR, 27 October 2026. With fewer than ten listings in a group, we show individual values rather than a median.

Girls had the most choice: eight of the 14 PGs were girls-only. There was only one boys-only PG in Kharghar in our data, so men should also look at the mixed listings and at CBD Belapur and Nerul (see section 4).

How the PG starting prices are spread

Advertised starting price (₹/month)	Kharghar PG listings
Up to 8,000	2
8,001–12,000	7
12,001–20,000	4
Above 20,000	1

14 BedR PG listings labelled Kharghar, 27 October 2026. Hostels are not included in this table.

Nine of the 14 PGs, close to two in three, started at ₹12,000 or less. The single PG above ₹20,000 was on the north-east edge.

What the numbers do and do not tell you

Starting price, not your rent. Each figure is the lowest price the page advertises. Nine of the 14 PG pages also showed a higher top price, ranging from ₹8,500 to ₹26,000. A single room, AC or a different meal plan will usually cost more than the starting price.
Sharing type is not stated. The listing data we read does not say whether the starting price is for a single, double or triple room. Ask before you compare two PGs.
Not a bed count. A listing page does not show whether a bed is free. Ask the operator about current vacancies and the move-in date.
One day's data. Prices on listing pages can change. Recheck them before you visit.

Facilities shown on the listings

Facility tag on the listing	Kharghar listings with the tag (out of 9 that list facilities)
Wi-Fi	9
Bed, wardrobe and study table	9
Geyser	9
In-house kitchen	7
CCTV	7
AC	7
Security guard	6

Facility tags as shown in each listing's structured data, 27 October 2026. Eight of the 17 Kharghar pages listed no facility tags. Tags are what the listing says; check them during your visit.

Meals, laundry and housekeeping were not among the facility tags we read. An in-house kitchen does not necessarily mean meals are included, so ask how many meals a day the price covers.

3. Getting around: Harbour line, Trans-Harbour line and metro

Kharghar railway station

Kharghar station is on the Mumbai suburban Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines, between CBD Belapur and Mansarovar, on the routes towards Panvel. The Harbour line links Kharghar with Vashi, Kurla and south Mumbai; the Trans-Harbour line links it with Thane. If you study or work across the creek, a PG within walking distance of the station can save daily time.

Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1

Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs for 11.10 km between Belapur Terminal and Pendhar. CIDCO opened it to passengers on 17 November 2023, as reported by the Hindustan Times. Its 11 stations) include Belpada, which connects with Kharghar railway station, and then Utsav Chowk, Kendriya Vihar, Kharghar Village, Central Park, Pethpada and Amandoot through Kharghar. NMIMS's own address names Pethpada Metro Station as its nearest landmark.

If you need to reach…	Parts of Kharghar to look at first	What to check on your visit
Kharghar station (Harbour or Trans-Harbour line)	Station side, then the southern end of the central belt	Walking route to the station at night
NIFT Mumbai (Sector 4)	Central belt and station side	Walking or auto route at your class timings
NMIMS Navi Mumbai (Pethpada)	Central belt and north-east edge	Distance to Pethpada metro stop and the last metro you would need
ACTREC (Sector 22)	Central belt	Route for late or early hospital shifts
CBD Belapur offices	CBD Belapur, or Kharghar near the station or a metro stop	Metro or train from Kharghar compared with a PG in Belapur

These are starting points, not commute times. Metro timings and frequency are set by the operator and can change, so check them before you rely on a late-night train. Try the trip at your actual class or shift time before paying a token.

4. Nearby options if Kharghar does not fit

If Kharghar's supply does not fit your budget or gender requirement, the neighbouring nodes are worth a look. These are separate areas with their own stations, not parts of Kharghar.

Area (listing label)	BedR PG listings within 5 km of Kharghar station	PG starting prices (₹/month)	Who they are for
CBD Belapur	3	6,500; 7,000; 10,000	2 boys, 1 girls
Nerul, Nerul East and Seawoods	26 (plus 1 hostel at ₹6,000)	6,000–14,000 (median 8,000)	17 boys, 7 girls, 2 boys and girls among the PGs
Panvel label, pins near Khandeshwar	3	7,500; 8,000; 8,000	2 boys, 1 girls

Lowest advertised monthly starting price per property on BedR, 27 October 2026; distances are straight-line from Kharghar station to the map pin. One more girls' PG labelled "Navi Mumbai" (from ₹9,000) had a pin about 3.7 km from the station.

Browse PG listings in CBD Belapur, PG listings in Nerul and PG listings in Panvel on BedR to compare them. On 27 October 2026, BedR's sitemap did not include PG listings labelled Taloja or Kamothe, so we could not compare those areas.

Choose Kharghar's station side if…

You commute daily on the Harbour or Trans-Harbour line.
You are a woman looking for a girls' PG; both station-side listings were girls-only.

Choose Kharghar's central belt if…

You study at NIFT or work at ACTREC and want the widest choice.
Your budget is around ₹7,000 to ₹16,000 a month for a starting price.

Choose CBD Belapur or Nerul if…

You are a man looking for a boys-only PG; most nearby boys-only listings were there.
You want lower starting prices and are fine with a train or metro ride into Kharghar.

5. Agreement, police tenant information and deposit

The agreement

Under section 55 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, a leave and licence or rental agreement for premises in Maharashtra must be in writing and registered, and the landlord is responsible for registration. The Department of Registration and Stamps runs an e-registration service for leave and licence agreements. PG arrangements vary: some operators sign a leave and licence agreement with each resident, while others use their own house rules and receipts. Ask the operator what you will sign, who pays any charges, and how the paperwork will be registered.

Police tenant information in Navi Mumbai

Kharghar falls under the Navi Mumbai Police. Its website lists tenant information among its citizen services. In August 2023, Loksatta reported that a police no-objection certificate is not needed to rent out a home in Navi Mumbai, but owners must give the police station the tenant's ID, PAN card and photograph. The Maharashtra Police Citizen Portal also offers an online tenant and paying guest information request. The owner or operator usually submits this, so ask them to confirm it has been done and keep copies of your ID and agreement.

Deposit

We did not find a fixed statewide deposit amount for PGs in Maharashtra in the sources we checked. The deposit, notice period, lock-in and refund timeline are set by the operator, so get all four in writing before you pay anything.

This section is general information based on the sources linked above, checked on 27 October 2026. It is not legal advice. Rules and procedures can change, so confirm the current position with the official portals, the operator or a lawyer.

6. If you want a flat instead of a PG

A PG is priced per bed or room and often includes services, so its price should not be compared directly with a whole-flat rent. This guide did not analyse flat rents in Kharghar, and BedR's sitemap had only one flat listing labelled Kharghar on 27 October 2026. If you are moving with friends or family, compare flats separately and budget for a deposit, brokerage if any, and maintenance.

7. Before you pay a token: viewing checklist

Visit at the time you would leave for class or work, and try the commute once.
Ask which sharing type the advertised price is for, and the price for the room you will actually get.
Get rent, deposit, notice period, lock-in and the refund timeline in writing.
Ask what the price includes: meals (how many a day), Wi-Fi, electricity, laundry and housekeeping.
Check entry timings, guest rules, and whether the building has the CCTV and guard the listing mentions.
Confirm the operator's identity and the exact address, especially for listings near the edges of Kharghar.
Ask how the operator will submit your details to the Navi Mumbai Police.
Photograph the room, furniture and meter on move-in day.
Pay through traceable methods such as UPI or bank transfer, and keep receipts.

Methodology note

BedR listing figures come from BedR's sitemap snapshot of 27 October 2026 (2,913 URLs). We fetched all 1,073 Mumbai-region PG pages in the sitemap between 15:09 and 15:21 IST; all returned HTTP 200, and 738 were individual listing pages with structured data and a map pin. From each page we read the lowest advertised monthly starting price, the map pin, the "who it is for" label, the PG or hostel label and the facility tags. The Kharghar sample is the 17 listings labelled Kharghar; none was excluded, as all were self-canonical and above ₹3,000. Nearby listings are those labelled with another area whose pins were within 5 km straight-line of Kharghar station. We split Kharghar into three parts using each pin's distance from Kharghar station and Central Park (OpenStreetMap points), and checked the pins against OpenStreetMap place names. PG and hostel prices are reported separately, and medians only where a group has at least ten listings. Sharing type is not stated in the data, so figures are per-property starting prices, not bed or room rents. Flat listings were not included. Search demand for "pg in kharghar" comes from Semrush (India database, figures pulled 26 October 2026); related searches come from Google autocomplete on 27 October 2026. Google Search Console is not connected, so no Search Console data was used. External facts are linked to dated sources; check the latest position before relying on them.
